Quartet sentenced – 210,000 euros damage from 140 burglaries

At the regional court in Salzburg, four people accused of a series of burglaries in Pinzgau with a total damage of around 210,000 euros were sentenced to imprisonment of 21 months partially conditionally up to twelve months conditionally. The accused, aged between 20 and 23, were accused of around 140 facts in the 2020 crime period. They are said to have mainly broken into basement compartments and stolen high-priced mountain bikes.

According to the indictment, a couple from Pinzgau and two Turkish citizens broke into several Pinzgau communities such as Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Kaprun, Mittersill, Uttendorf and Zell am See. The stolen goods also included e-bikes, a motocross machine and a motorcycle. The suspects committed the burglaries in different compositions. They offered the loot on internet platforms and sold it for a profit, which ultimately led to their undoing. The investigators found out about them. After their arrest, the four suspects confessed. And the accused also confessed extensively during the trial. They cited lack of money as a motive. The injured parties were awarded a total of 17,000 euros in damages
