Queen Camilla has to cancel a public appointment at short notice. Actually, a visit to Newmarket would have been pending, but in an official statement, Buckingham Palace provided a valid reason for their absence.

It wasn’t until mid-February that Queen Camilla, 75, canceled a whole series of important appointments. She had been infected with the corona virus for the second time. Now the wife of King Charles, 74, is again canceling an appearance at short notice. Your visit to Newmarket, UK, falls victim to the weather.

Threatened Queen Camilla’s travel plans

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, the royal consort was expected at the Suffolk site. On the same day, however, Buckingham Palace issued the following message: “Her Majesty’s planned visit to Newmarket today has had to be postponed due to the weather-related impairment of transport options. Her Majesty is of course very sorry that she cannot attend and hopes to be able to Time to reschedule your visit.”

Camilla was scheduled to visit the British Racing School to celebrate its 40th anniversary and unveil the Belvoir Huntsman’s painting, John Holliday, at the British Sporting Art Trust, a non-profit organization in Newmarket.

The weather throws a spanner in the works for Camilla

Road, rail and air travel has been severely impacted in recent days due to increased snow, rain and ice in the UK. The Independent reports that snowstorms have been forecast for Thursday across much of England and Wales after the lowest March temperatures in more than a decade were recorded overnight. So it’s no wonder that the 75-year-old doesn’t want to be exposed to these weather conditions – whether in a car, train or helicopter.
