As announced by Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth spent one night in the hospital due to some preliminary examinations. Since then, there has been concern about the 95-year-old monarch. Now it’s the senior royals that the queen has to rely on.

Even in her old age, Queen Elizabeth, 95, insists on attending numerous appointments for the crown. But it is precisely this fact that is causing discussion: While some Royal fans are thrilled that the monarch continues to pursue her activities, some Royal experts advise caution.

One day after Queen Elizabeth’s stay in the hospital became known, Prince William, 39, and Duchess Catherine, 39, are now in the focus of the media and experts. Will they take on the Queen’s upcoming duties?

As the Royal expert Hugo Vickers told “The Sun”, calm should now be the monarch’s top priority. “Let’s hope she’s getting some rest,” said Vickers. However, this also means that in the coming days or even weeks, many appointments will either have to be canceled or be occupied by other family members of the Royals.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine are high on the list here. In addition, the Cambridges were spotted at Heathrow Airport in London with their children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, just a few hours after the Queen’s hospital visit. Photos show the family arriving at Terminal 5. It is not known whether the family will start a trip that was originally scheduled for Queen Elizabeth. As “The Sun” suggests, the Cambridges could travel to a warmer place during the autumn break. Duchess Catherine wore an ankle-free dress and Prince George and Prince Charlotte also opted for a rather summery look that doesn’t really match the current temperatures in England.

Queen Elizabeth is said to have already resumed her duties

A Cambridges family vacation would be a good sign: it would mean the Queen is fine and the family can leave the country with confidence. The palace has not yet released any information that would suggest that William and Kate might have to cushion some of their commitments. Nevertheless, experts hope that the Queen’s condition will be taken seriously and that the working senior royals will be brought on board.

As a spokesman for the Royals announced, Queen Elizabeth is said to have sat back at Windsor Castle right at her desk and worked. She was “in a good mood” according to the choice of words from the official statement. Either way, the British are worried about their regent: the hospitalization – if only as a precaution – is a worrying signal. The last time the 95-year-old had to be treated as an inpatient was eight years ago.
