2020 was a particularly difficult year for the whole world. The British royals are not exempt from this. That's what the Queen says about it.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) spoke up again before the turn of the year. On Instagram she wished "a happy and healthy new year". In addition, she addressed once again emotional and encouraging words to citizens and fans.

"We should find consolation in the fact that there will be better days again, even if we may have to endure even more," said the queen. "We'll be with our friends again, we'll be with our families again, we'll meet again."

An indomitable spirit

For this purpose, four photos were published on the Royal Family account. One, which was taken on the 73rd wedding anniversary of the two, shows the Queen together with her husband, Prince Philip (99). At Christmas the Queen had already declared in a speech among other things: "In the United Kingdom and around the world people have faced the challenges of the year in a great way, and I am so proud and moved by this quiet, indomitable spirit."
