Does Queen Elizabeth really have to spend Christmas alone without husband Prince Philip? This is exactly what the royal family wants to prevent and is allegedly working on a plan to be able to get together at Christmas.

Queen Elizabeth, 95, must have made that decision particularly difficult. Last week, according to British media reports, the monarch canceled her traditional Christmas dinner with the family “with regret” and as a “precautionary measure”. The reason, as is so often the case these days, is the omicron variant of the coronavirus, which is spreading rapidly in the UK. On December 21, 2021, the festival with around 50 relatives should take place at Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace this year.

And the family’s walk to the Christmas service on December 25th in St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham is also said to be canceled. The royal estate Sandringham will not be completely cordoned off, reports “Mirror”, but the famous walkway to the church is expected to be fenced in to avoid the crowds of visitors who come annually for a walk on site.

Queen Elizabeth wants the family in Sandringham

So the Queen has to forego several traditions that are dear to her and sacred. But even if the palace thinks this decision is “the right one for everyone involved”, the Queen should still cherish the “strong wish” that she can at least bring her close family to Sandringham over the Christmas period, so claim palace sources, according to the Daily Mail. Understandable, after all, this year is no ordinary Christmas.

Queen Elizabeth has a lot to laugh about this Christmas.

“It would be such a bitter blow to the Queen not to celebrate Christmas in Sandringham, so an operation has been launched to make it a special festival. Sandringham is an important place to Her Majesty. Sandringham is not just for special with all of the fond memories of Prince Philip and the hard work he put into remodeling the property, but also because her father died there, which is why she usually doesn’t leave Sandringham until after the Christmas break she spent his anniversary there on February 6, “a palace insider is said to have said.

Prince Charles is said to be making preparations

And so even the closest family members should be willing not to leave the Queen alone at Christmas at any cost. But of course a meeting is subject to “obvious practical concerns”.

Prince Charles, 73, has reportedly made secret trips to Sandringham to prepare the family residence. The prerequisites include that every guest undergoes a corona test beforehand, that there are no new restrictions and that the situation is not too unsafe for the Queen. As long as all of this is in place, the royal family members want to get together for Christmas. But what exactly this meeting will look like is not yet known.
