Almost two years of hardship, family scandals and devastating blows of fate lie behind Queen Elizabeth. Nevertheless, the monarch continues to carry out her duties as usual. Her goddaughter Victoria Pryor has revealed how she does it.

Queen Elizabeth (95) has repeatedly demonstrated her strength over the past few decades, but above all her commitment to the crown. On her 21st birthday, the monarch made a promise: “I declare to all of you that my whole life, long or short, shall be dedicated to the service of you and the large family to which we all belong.” She has kept this to this day – even after the death of her husband Prince Philip († 99).

Victoria Pryor, the daughter of the Queen’s first cousin, has told Telegraph which character traits help Queen Elizabeth in such difficult times and on whom the 95-year-old can now rely most.

Queen Elizabeth is “made of tough wood”

Victoria Pryor, one of Queen Elizabeth’s godchildren, describes the Queen as the “kindest” and “toughest” person she has ever met. It is in the nature of the monarch not to lose her head and “fight her way” even in extreme situations – this also applies to the death of her beloved husband.

The mother of Prince Charles (72) was “made of hard wood,” said Pryor. Furthermore, it is simply not in the Queen’s interest to sink into an “oh, poor me” mentality. She goes about her obligations; come what may. Something that should have helped her especially in the past two years.

Difficult times lie behind the monarchy

The Queen not only lost her husband after 72 years of marriage, but had to endure scandal after scandal. Starting with the “Megxit” of Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39), about their revelatory interview with Oprah Winfrey (67), in which they spoke about racism in the palace, among other things; up to the involvement of Prince Andrew (61) in the pedophile scandal about Jeffrey Epstein, († 66).

The monarch’s “never complain, never explain” policy was repeatedly shattered and disregarded by other members of the royal family. But there are still the royals who stand by the Queen, respect and want to continue their leadership style. “Charles will step in, William, Anne. They all have such a great respect for her that she will not be alone at all,” assures Pryor. Supports that Queen Elizabeth can certainly use.
