Quentin Tarantino is one of Hollywood’s most successful directors. Now he is being honored with a very special prize.

Quentin Tarantino (58) is being honored with a lifetime achievement award. At this year’s Rome International Film Festival, which will take place from October 14th to 24th, the filmmaker will be given a great honor. As announced on the official website of the event, the “Pulp Fiction” director receives an award for his amazing life’s work. “There was a time in my life when I saw every Italian film. And most of my life I’ve spent making my own version of those films. So getting a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rome Film Festival is fantastic “said the American in a statement.

Tim Burton also received a Lifetime Achievement Award

But Tarantino is not the only director to be recognized for his life’s work. “Beetlejuice” maker Tim Burton (62) also receives one of the valuable trophies. The organizers described Burton as one of the “most original filmmakers in the USA”, who is known for his “dark atmospheres” and “extravagant characters”. “Receiving this honor from the Rome Film Festival is very special for me,” commented the 62-year-old on the good news.

Another highlight of the festival will be an appearance by the author Zadie Smith (45): The Briton will review her 20-year career in front of an audience. Hollywood director Arthur Penn (1922-2010) is also remembered with a look back.
