Exciting combination: Superstar Brad Pitt is set to play the lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s next film “The Movie Critic”.

Impressive cast access for Quentin Tarantino’s (60) probably last film “The Movie Critic”. According to US industry magazines, superstar Brad Pitt (60) will once again be in front of the camera for the exceptional director – as he did with “Inglourious Basterds” from 2009 and “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood”, which was released ten years later.

Brad Pitt stars in ‘The Movie Critic’

Nothing has been officially confirmed on this matter yet, but it’s about possible the reliable US industry magazine “Deadline” assumes that the now 60-year-old Pitt will probably play the lead role in “The Movie Critic”. Director legend Tarantino told Deadline in May last year that his new film would be about a cynical, intelligent film critic who writes scathing film reviews for a porn magazine in Los Angeles in 1977.

The character is based on a real person who Tarantino, who grew up in LA, idolized as a young cinephile. The later star director and two-time Oscar winner met the critic when he was loading pornographic magazines into vending machines as a teenager. “All the other stuff was too sleazy to read, but then there was this porn magazine with a really interesting film page,” Tarantino said. The reviews of his new film’s main character were “biting and clever”.

When will Quentin Tarantino’s new film be released?

“The Movie Critic” is currently scheduled to open in cinemas in 2025. The potential leading actor Pitt is currently in front of the camera for an as yet untitled Formula 1 film by “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski (49). Filming should be completed later this year so that production of “The Movie Critic” could then begin.

Brad Pitt was honored with an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2020 for his performance in Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” – the only acting Oscar in Pitt’s long and successful career to date.
