After more than two weeks of work, we are pleased to announce the very upcoming release of HQ V4.0.0 which is fully compatible with the version V40 of the system Oculus. We have also worked hard to correct the problems related to this new version of the system. Oculus which, as you must know, is not perfect and has been the fear of the developers. We debriefed the content of this new update in our live last Sunday. We therefore strongly encourage you to update HQ to this new version.
First of all, we would like to thank all the people who have helped us directly or indirectly throughout the development of this major new update. We thank you for your ideas and feedback, as well as the beta testers.
About 40% of the application’s code has been rewritten and it is now much lighter (5 MB instead of 23 MB). It is also easier to install and use, but also faster, more ergonomic and better documented. Quest Games Optimizer V4.0.0 introduces the notion of new profiles clouds so that everyone can find their happiness. From now on, the new profiles that will be published will be available only on the V4.0.0 :
- Performance : higher fps and unchanged visual quality;
- Quality (what we currently have) : superior visual quality, no compromise on fps stability or refresh rate;
- High quality : even higher visual quality and no compromise on fps stability, but potentially lower refresh rate (to save available resources).
HQ V4.0.0 also introduces a whole new level of performance INSANE to unlock even more power and therefore create better profiles. the GPUs goes from 525 MHz to 587 MHz, thus making earn lots of extra fps! We would like to remind you that during our hundreds of hours of testing, we have never encountered any overheating or warning message. Level INSANE will necessarily heat up the helmet faster, but rest assured, we have not noticed anything alarming so far and if ever there was overheating, the helmet is equipped with a safety device preventing breakage. You will therefore soon see new profiles arriving.
Here is the list of things that have changed:
Application :
- Simplified installation;
- Icons displaying page information;
- Information in the form of a sliding page. No more pop-ups that had trouble working since V39;
- Green color to highlight some important elements;
- Chinese translation;
- Removal of the basic mode of use;
- Improved detection algorithm for launching and closing applications.
Application page:
- The accessibility button is now represented as a switch. No more laborious manipulations to activate the permission in the Oculus menus (which are no longer accessible since V40);
- Possibility to simply activate or deactivate the automatic mode of QGO, therefore to deactivate QGO;
- Buttons to scroll through the list of applications;
- New video capture profiles (1440p and 2160p at 30 fps and full rate);
- New icons for the three types of profiles;
- Possibility to launch the games from QGO by clicking on the image of the game, its name or as before via the launch icon.
Setup page:
- Application name in the navigation bar;
- Information button;
- Sections detailing the three types of cloud profiles;
- Copy buttons for each profile;
- Long press possible on the +/- buttons used to increase or reduce the resolution of the textures. The slider now rises much faster.
Various :
- Optimization and rewriting of almost 40% of the code;
- Reduced application from 21 MB to 5 MB;
- Bugfix .
