From the very first bite, this crispy snack with a delicious strawberry filling is absolutely worth baking. We will show you the few steps to delicious success.

Most people probably know an apple turnover as an afternoon snack. Finally, the combination of warm, crunchy pastries with soft and sweet fruit makes for a delightful little meal. But why shouldn’t another variation end up in the bag instead of apples? For example strawberries and chocolate cream. Because surprising the palate with variety also pleases the taste buds. We have a simple and delicious chocolate and strawberry pastry for you that can be combined in many ways. But more on that later.

Enjoyment with little effort: the ingredients for strawberry pockets

  • 1 packet of puff pastry (from the refrigerated section)
  • 200 grams of strawberries
  • 1 jar of chocolate cream

This is how the finest strawberry bags succeed

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Quarter the puff pastry.
  3. Think of three equal parts along the long side of each section. Then cut the thirds outside, i.e. left and right, diagonally into strips about one centimeter wide.
  4. Wash the strawberries and cut them into small pieces.
  5. Then spread the chocolate cream in the middle of the puff pastry sections and place the strawberry pieces on top.
  6. Now fold the cut strips on top of each other. To do this, first place the top stripe from the right over the filling, then the top stripe from the left and continue until the strawberry and chocolate mixture is covered under the dough and you have created a pretty lattice pattern.
  7. Bake the strawberry pockets for about 12 to 15 minutes until the dough looks nicely browned.
  8. The hot pastries should be allowed to cool for around five minutes before you can enjoy them while they are still warm.

More tasty puff pastry creations

The finished puff pastry pockets are great to enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Another variation is to combine the strawberries with a prepared packet of custard in the batter instead of chocolate. A mix of grated coconut, pieces of banana and chocolate cream can also convince – or a few chopped pears with chocolate.

If you like, you can also brush the dough with butter or egg yolk and sprinkle some sugar on top – and that’s not all. The puff pastry creations can also delight you and your visitors in a savory way on the next evening together: for example with a Gouda ham or a paprika and mozzarella mixture.
