“Bet that..?” attracted almost 14 million viewers in front of the screens. Will there be a sequel after all? That says the broadcaster ZDF.

The one-time comeback of the classic show “Wetten, dass ..?” on the 40th anniversary attracted almost 14 million viewers in front of the screens. In view of this dream quota, will there be a sequel with entertainer Thomas Gottschalk (71) and co-presenter Michelle Hunziker (44)?

“We are very happy about the great success of the anniversary edition. A sequel was never actually planned. In view of the great response, we will certainly think about it again,” explains ZDF program director Dr. Norbert Himmler (50) when asked by the news agency spot on news.

The lovingly choreographed show on Saturday evening (November 6th) from Nuremberg included everything that the show has always stood for: wacky bets, musical interludes, lots of stars like Helene Fischer (37), Udo Lindenberg (75) and the BB from ABBA – and Gottschalk with Schalk in the eternally curly blond neck. “You are in a really good mood today,” said Hunziker.

Legendary Eurovision show

On February 14, 1981, a format saw the light of day that would make TV history: “Wetten, dass ..?” Show inventor and presenter Frank Elstner (79) welcomed famous sponsors from all over the world to the sounds of the Eurovision fanfare. Even more than Elstner, however, Thomas Gottschalk shaped the heyday of the evening-packed show – for him, pulling over was part of the good form.
