Ragnarock: Our opinion on the DLC Hellfest Raid

Ragnarockafter a very effective basic game, returns to extend the experience with a new DLC named Hellfest Raid. As its name suggests, the downloadable content logically pays tribute to Hellfest, which took place on June 16, 17 and 18 in Clisson. So, it’s time to give our opinion on this new DLC anyway, to see if it’s really worth it in addition to the original game.

Testing conditions: We tested the Ragnarock Hellfest Raid DLC for two short hours. This allowed us to complete the 11 songs that make up this DLC twice, and take a quick tour of the locker room, which is the new part of the software menu. The title was tested on the Meta Quest 2.

Decent content for the price

In this new DLC dedicated to Hellfest, it is clear that the playlist provided is rather qualitative. With some The Offsprings, Gojira, DragonForce or even Nightwish, in other words the players should be satisfied. What’s more, the downloadable content no less than 11 songs, all of which are more or less quality apart from two or three, which are not very interesting in the lot. That said, the content offered at the song level is largely acceptable, especially since for €12.04, the price is really decent seen what it offers.

Beyond the songs Ragnarock take advantage of it too to have a new item in its menu, with the cloakroom. Here, nothing very transcendent, because it just gives you the possibility of modifying your hammer, or your longship. Of course, these are unlocked under certain conditions – that of Hellfest RAID only unlocks by completing all the songs on any difficulty -, and are obviously purely cosmetic. Except the immersive side of the thing, the cloakroom will only be more dispensable even if it is welcomeespecially for players eager to customize their hammer or longship.

Finally, the Hellfest Raid DLC does not leave players hungry, with also a new key map. The latter indeed offers a map showing us the main places of the mythical Hellfest. It must be said that this has its small effect, while we strive to follow the rhythm of the various music, hammers in our hands. For once, that’s all that this Hellfest Raid DLC will give us. Ragnarockand that’s not bad.

Concretely, what to remember from this DLC Hellfest Raid of Ragnarock ? Honestly only positive, more or less. Enjoying a nice playlist which is still a bit uneven and above all the addition of a new room, cosmetics and a new map, we have to admit that this downloadable content is rather decent in terms of content ratio /price. If the purely cosmetic additions with the new Drakkar and Hammer do not bring much to the gameplay unfortunately, the Hellfest Raid DLC is however inexpensive, offers a lot of quality songs that were present at Hellfest, and allows you to extend generously the experience on the title of Wannadev Studio, which is already as excellent as it is well supplied just on the original game.
