A “solution” for those who consider that their latest graphics card does not yet occupy enough space in the case?

For two or three generations, the most impressive graphics cards can monopolize up to three PCI Express slots, mainly because of their cooling system.

360 W passively, more if needed

The Raijintek company probably thinks that this is still not enough, however, and that the vapor chambers, heat pipes or fans of the GeForce RTX 3000 or Radeon RX 6000 are too light.

To go even further, Raijintek has therefore imagined a new, even more muscular, even more imposing cooling solution. She baptized it Morpheus 8069, without anyone really knowing the reason for this name, except that it follows on from Morpheus 8057.

The Morpheus 8069 also largely incorporates the characteristics of the previous version, in particular its ability to passively dissipate up to 360 W. Yes, “passively”. Back in the days of the Morpheus 8057, that 360W could be enough for just about any graphics card. Today, that’s what it takes for a Radeon RX 6900 or a GeForce RTX 3080.

715g and 4 PCIe slots

However, this is insufficient to calm the ardor of a GeForce RTX 4090 whose TDP is 450 W. To do this, Raijintek allows the installation of two 120 mm fans.

The heatsink itself is a 254 x 100 x 44mm block of aluminum that weighs 515g. Its base is made of nickel-plated copper, it is crossed by 12 heat pipes of 6 mm and has 129 fins. With 120mm fans, the weight drops to 715g.

Note that the size is also increasing, and as we noted in the introduction, it will be even greater than for a GeForce RTX 4090. Raijintek mentions the occupation of 4 PCI Express slots. The brand announces a release at 1er November, and if there is no question of any price, we can say that the Morpheus 8069 will undoubtedly be even more expensive than the 8057, which is around 100 euros.
