This rail strike is hitting travelers particularly hard because almost all trains in Germany are canceled for 6 days. Rail travelers must be prepared for severe restrictions in rail traffic and should inform accordingly.

Ticket refund at Deutsche Bahn during the rail strike
Anyone who has train tickets for the strike period will either have their money refunded or will be allowed to travel at a later date. The train offers Goodwill for all travelers . The regulation during the rail strike applies to tickets from foreign railways (e.g. ÖBB, SBB, SNCF) for an intra-German or cross-border connection to, from or through Germany.
In general, the ticket for traveling abroad is valid until February 5, 2024. If you would like to travel later, it is advisable to get a certificate from a travel center and use it together with the original ticket.
