Rainer Langhans: Prostate cancer in the hippie icon has spread

Concern about Rainer Langhans is growing. As the hippie icon has now announced, cancer has spread. But he doesn't want to give up.

New bad news for Rainer Langhans (80, "K 1 – The Commune Picture Book"). A new investigation at the hippie icon has shown that the cancer has spread. "The doctors found small tumors on the hip, in the collarbone, in the lumbar vertebrae and on the costal arch," Langhans told the "Bild" newspaper.

Just a few weeks ago, the 80-year-old announced that he was suffering from prostate cancer. This is "aggressive and incurable". Langhans does not want to give up for a long time. He'll continue with his hormone therapy. This finally hit "quite well". "For the time being, I turned down harsher drugs such as chemo with these strong side effects. I now look step by step," Langhans continues.

Langhan's long-time friend Jutta Winkelmann lost the battle against severe cancer in 2017 and died at the age of 67. Langhans had been by her side to the end. Together with him and two other women, Winkelmann founded a shared flat, the so-called "Harem", in Munich in 1976.
