Ralf Schumacher rarely speaks about his brother Michael. Now he has said that since the skiing accident “nothing has been the same” anymore.

It’s been ten years now Michael Schumacher (54) had a tragic accident while skiing in Méribel, France, in 2013 and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Now his brother Ralf Schumacher (48) has spoken about how much the family’s life has “changed” as a result of the accident – a rare case, as relatives almost never talk about the Formula 1 legend’s current state of health.

“I miss my Michael from back then,” said Ralf Schumacher in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. “Life is sometimes unfair. Michael had often been lucky in his life, but then this tragic accident happened.” This “changed” the family, says Michael Schumacher’s younger brother.

Ralf Schumacher: “He simply taught me everything”

Ralf Schumacher doesn’t reveal how the 54-year-old’s health is, but explains: “Thank God we were able to do a lot thanks to modern medical options, but still nothing is like it used to be.”

His older brother was also a “coach and mentor” for him at a young age: “He simply taught me everything about karting. We are seven years apart in age, but he was always by my side back then.” With him he was able to “learn from the best”.
