It’s been ten years since the skiing accident in which Michael Schumacher was seriously injured. Nothing is known about his condition; family members, friends and companions are keeping quiet about their statements. In a rare interview, Michael’s brother Ralf Schumacher opens up and reveals how badly the misfortune still hurts him today.

It was December 29, 2013, as a racing superstar Michael Schumacher, 54, fell so badly while skiing in the French Alps that he spent several days fighting for survival in the university hospital in Grenoble and was in an artificial coma for a long time. It is not known how he is doing today. In an interview with “Bild”, Ralf Schumacher, 48, now talks about how the accident changed the entire family.

Everything has changed for Michael Schumacher

Ralf also doesn’t provide any precise information about his brother’s current condition in the interview, but he emphasizes how bad the accident was and is for the entire family. “I can say that his accident was a very bad and drastic experience for me too,” confirms the 48-year-old. As bad as it was for him, one person probably suffered even more from the tragic event: Schumi’s son Mick. The now 24-year-old was on a skiing holiday with his father ten years ago and had to experience everything. “Mick, as we all know, was there as a young teenager back then. Unfortunately, life is not always fair and unfortunately there was also a lot of bad luck,” says Ralf Schumacher.

“I miss my Michael”

The family meticulously protects the former racing athlete’s privacy. Although there are always rumors and speculations about how he is doing now, the 54-year-old’s confidants do not comment on them. Ralf Schumacher, on the other hand, now speaks quite openly about his emotions: “I miss my Michael from back then. Life is sometimes unfair. Michael had often been lucky in his life, but then this tragic accident happened. Thank God, thanks to modern medical options do some things.

Nevertheless, nothing is as it used to be.
