Here is a new affair which risks causing a lot of noise within the National Assembly. A deputy currently in office in the hemicycle accuses her companion of rape. This is the elected representative of France Insoumise [LFI] Ersilia Soudais. According to information revealed by The Parisian Tuesday March 5, 2024, the MP filed a complaint against the man who shared her life on the night of Thursday February 29 to Friday March 1, 2024, at a police station in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The police then went to arrest Ersilia Soudais’ companion at his home, before placing him in police custody near Dammarie-les-Lys [Seine-et-Marne]. The elected official is currently in a relationship with a France Insoumise activist named Damien Cassé, who notably serves as a municipal councilor in Noisiel [Seine-et-Marne]. The MP, who is in conflict with her partner, denounces facts which allegedly occurred in Noisiel.

For his part, the Meaux public prosecutor’s office has decided to open an flagrant investigation. This will be carried out by the sub-directorate of the Melun Judicial Police. Contacted by The ParisianDamien Cassé’s lawyer, Me Yassine Bouzrou, indicated that his client “strongly contests the accusations against him”. Aged 36, Ersilia Soudais was elected deputy in the 7th constituency of Seine-et-Marne on June 19, 2022, during the last legislative elections. The representative of France Insoumise is also a municipal elected official for Lagny-sur-Marne.. In 2023, she made headlines after being attacked by the president of Licra, Alain Jakubowicz. The latter had mocked his clothing inappropriately within the National Assembly. In the past, France Insoumise had already been shaken by the Adrien Quatennens affair. As a reminder, the MP admitted to having slapped his former partner during an argument. After withdrawing from the LFI group for some time, he finally rejoined the National Assembly.
