Rated 4 out of 5: 100 years later, this legendary horror film is entitled to its remake with Lily-Rose Depp

After witches, mermaids and Vikings, Robert Eggers tackles vampires in his remake of “Nosferatu” scheduled for 2024. And the first photo from the film is revealed, with Lily-Rose Depp facing this horror icon .

Nosferatu: third! After the 1922 and 1979 versions, Robert Eggers signs the second remake of this cinema classic (and not just horror), which is scheduled for release in 2024.

After a detour through Viking fury in The Northman, the English director returns to his first love, terror. The one who revealed it thanks to The Witch in 2016, and to which he claims to return next year: “Yes, it’s a creepy movie.”he said to Empire which reveals the first photo. “It’s a horror film. A gothic horror film.”

And this gothic horror film will be carried by Lily-Rose Depp, recently seen in The Idol, an HBO series with a horror tale in the music world, where the character of Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) was presented as a vampire. No such metaphor in Nosferatu, which confronts her with the Lord of the Night, an unofficial version of Dracula.

In front of her, a specialist in monsters: Bill Skarsgard. The interpreter of Pennywise in It succeeds Max Schreck and Klaus Kinski in the guise of the vampire. Whose look has not yet been revealed. Only his shadow is visible in the photo of this feature film also worn by Nicholas Hoult, Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Emma Corrin.

If the previous films were largely focused on Count Orlok, Robert Eggers specifies that it will be “more of Ellen Hutter’s story [Lily-Rose Depp] than in the other versions.” Now we just have to wait before discovering the result. And the look of a Bill Skarsgard who we imagine is unrecognizable.
