Before moving on to the purely technical aspect and all our appreciations on the mouse Basilisk V3 Pro White, let’s take a look at the packaging of the said product. The box is thick and sturdy. Displaying the colors of the brand (black and green), the different sides of the box offer a lot of information about the mouse and its characteristics. Moreover, note that by opening it, we can see a foam insert, inside, protecting and immobilizing the mouse to avoid possible shocks during transport. A significant plus.

Basilisk V3 Pro Mouse Design
The “White Edition”
As you may have noticed from the images available above, Razer sent us the white version, called White Edition, of the mouse Basilisk V3 Pro. However, know that it also exists in black. Thus, everyone will be able to find their way around and choose the version of their choice.
On our side, we found that the design of the Basilisk V3 Pro White Edition is rather original and above all very pleasant. Essentially white, the mouse has a few touches of black in places. Indeed, on the top of the product, we notice the use of black color for the contours of the Razer logo, the wheel, the two buttons on the top and via the three bands present on the rear part of the mouse. The mixture of these two colors works very well and above all brings pace and an elegance certain to the device.
Dimensions, shape and handling
The Basilisk V3 Pro takes the form of previous mice in the same range, which is not a bad thing in itself as the V2 has, for example, been able to prove itself. Note immediately that the V3 Pro is intended exclusively for right-handers. Currently, Razer does not offer a left-handed version. Which is a shame.
With its 13 cm in length, the shape of the mouse Basilisk V3 Pro turns out rather elongated and tapered. As a result, it will certainly be more suitable for players with long and large hands. In addition, and due to its dimensions (quoted at the beginning of the article), the mouse seems to favor a grip rather “Palm Grip”. This may require a slight adjustment period for those who are not used to it.
However, the product is no less comfortable. Thanks to its thumb rest, located on the left, and two parts with an anti-slip coating, the Basilisk V3 Pro is taken well in hand and is not likely to escape you. Despite its weight that may seem quite substantial for some (a little more than that of the normal V3), the mouse benefits fromvery good glide and good trackingin particular thanks to its five 100% PTFE pads, positioned on the lower part, and the 30 K Focus Pro optical sensor.
Drums
Advertised as having a battery life of more than 90 hours (Hyperspeed) by Razer, the autonomy of the Basilisk V3 Pro is actually less when the RGB lighting is on. Nevertheless, it is still satisfactory and correct, rest assured. On this subject, be aware that the mouse will go to sleep after a certain period of inactivity (changeable via Razer Synapse), which is rather welcome and appreciable. However, note that the device will take a few seconds to be operational again, after an automatic standby.
The Basilisk V3 Pro is compatible with the wireless mouse dock, featuring a built-in 4KHz transceiver, Razer Mouse Dock Pro. However, in order to take advantage of this technology, players will have to pay €99.99. The price of the Basilisk V3 Pro being already substantial (179.99 €), adding the Razer Mouse Dock Pro to a shopping cart can greatly weigh on a budget.
A customizable mouse
Connection methods
Regarding the connectivity of the Basilisk V3 Pro, players have several options. The mouse can be wired directly, using the Razer Speedflex USB C cable, which is braided and white in color. The end of the cable is placed at the tip of the peripheral, which therefore does not impact the maneuverability of the mouse when it is connected by wire. Moreover, the Basilisk V3 Pro can be connected via Bluetooth, using the Wireless dongle. Moreover, the dongle can be stored in a compartment, positioned on the lower part of the product, when not in use. Which is pretty handy, especially for those carrying their PC peripherals from one place to another.
Finally, the mouse is equipped with Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology (2.4Ghz), which offers very high speed and very low latency. In addition, thanks to this technology, several compatible Razer products can be connected, via a single dongle. For example, it is thus possible to connect the Basilisk V3 Pro mouse and the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro keyboard with this system, and therefore occupy only one USB port. A very good point which makes it possible to declutter the setup and especially to free up USB slots on a computer. Well seen !
On the lower part of the mouse, three buttons dedicated to connectivity are available: one allows you to be in Bluetooth, the other to switch to Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, while the third allows you to turn off the mouse.
Buttons and Profiles
The mouse Basilisk V3 Pro has no less than 11 customizable buttons. On the left edge of the mouse, we find three of them: the two abovenamed “Button 4” and “Button 5” by default on Razer Synapse, are very easy to access and can therefore be activated very quickly in game. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the thirdat the end of the stroke of the thumb, which seemed distant to us and difficult to reach in the middle of the game. Also, this button is not removable.
In our view, the strength of Basilisk V3 Pro to care about the presence of the disengageable and directional wheel. Indeed, it can switch from a tactile scrolling mode (notched) to a free scrolling mode. Moreover, it is possible to modify this via the Razer Synapse software, but also by operating a simple click, or thanks to the button positioned just below said wheel. This makes it possible to switch between the two modes easily and in a few seconds. Which can be relatively interesting on some games, you will certainly agree. Moreover, by activating an option on Razer Synapse, the wheel will change, autonomously, the scrolling mode according to your speed.
As previously stated, the wheel is also directional and can, thus, be pushed to the left or to the right to perform horizontal movements more quickly. Near said wheel, a second button (the lowest) gives us the possibility of increasing / lowering the sensitivity (according to your parameters), in stages to be defined yourself on Razer Synapse. Moreover, with regard to the DPIthe Basilisk V3 Pro has the ability to climb up to 30,000.
Obviously, the mouse gives us the opportunity to save different profiles, which can be associated with certain games present in our video game library. On the lower part, a button affiliated with the profile is also present.
Changeable lighting
As with many other Razer mice, the lighting of the Basilisk V3 Pro can be set via the Razer Synapse app. Once the device is connected to your PC, you should normally see it in the list indicating the connected devices, from said software. Moreover, this is how you can also see the battery level of the mouse. Note, in this regard, that via Razer Synapse, you can adjust several options concerning the autonomy of the mouse, in particular the wireless energy saving and the low consumption mode. Two highly valuable options.
It is in the Chroma Studio tab that we can modify the RGB lighting of the mouse. Many effects (Breathing, Ripple, Fire, Static, Circular, Wave, Audio Meter, Environmental Influence, Reactive, etc.) can be selected. In addition, be aware that it is possible to modify the color, and this for different parts of the mouse: the Razer logo, the wheel, the lower lighting. In total, these are thirteen lighting zones that can be individually changed. Thus, players will be able to fully personalize, in a few clicks, their Basilisk V3 Pro according to their tastes and desires. A point that will certainly please.
