During CES 2022, Razer not only unveiled its new laptops and gaming setup projects. But the snake brand has also decided to go further by storming the entire connected home to bring a little color.

When we talk about PC and flashy lights, we immediately think of Razer and its ability to put RGB everywhere, from the keys of keyboards to screens, including the mouse, lighting and everything else.
The brand obviously took advantage of CES in Las Vegas which is being held this week to unveil its new Blade laptop PCs, but also other accessories such as a new Razer Zephyr connected mask with this time a voice amplifier, a connected watch in partnership with Fossil or even a modular gaming desk concept.
But the firm has also rushed a little more clearly into the connected home by announcing a dedicated program that will inevitably bring color to your interiors.
A Razer app to enlighten them all
Specialist in lighting for gaming devices, Razer therefore intends to extend its spectrum by also taking control of connected objects in the house, at least lights. And this, in order to make life easier for its users by centralizing the controls within a single application, Razer Smart Home.

At the heart of this program is the Razer Chroma RGB technology, used in particular on PCs, which will be extended to other devices to offer “A simple, yet powerful tool (for) complete and unified control”. In other words, from the app, users will be able to manage all compatible products and thus create a home automation ecosystem around Razer, taking advantage of more than 16.8 million colors and light effects galore to light up. .
The company promises a simple and functional interface from the PC or smartphone, lighting capable of reacting to all types of home entertainment. Razer thus comes somewhat to walk on the flowerbeds of Nanoleaf, the other champion of RGB lighting which makes the happiness of streamers and influencers, and which begins to embed many technologies (Thread, Matter …) to be able to extend its field of control to other devices.

To truly kick-start its program and make it attractive, Razer has invited connected home players to join by integrating Razer Chrome RGB into their products. The Asian firm already relies on more than 50 partners and hundreds of games that are compatible with its technology for personalized gaming immersion. It now intends to further open its lighting protocol and ecosystem to other home automation specialists.

And the first names are quite high-sounding: we find in particular Nanoleaf, LIFX, Twinkly or even Monster, specialists in connected lighting of all kinds (bulbs, light panels, LED ribbons, etc.). Other names will be announced soon, promises Razer, which will launch its application and program in the first half of 2022.
