A driver showed courage on the Westautobahn near Mondsee, where he drove behind a car whose driver continued to drive despite several property damage accidents. He chased her and was able to get the woman, who was obviously drunk, out of the way.
The 59-year-old from Salzburg was traveling on the western motorway towards Vienna on Sunday evening and the road apparently became too narrow for her between Thalgau and Mondsee near a construction site. Her car collided several times with the side of the makeshift center guard rail. Since she just kept driving, a witness chased the car and called the police at the same time. But the driver got to her faster because the Salzburg woman drove off and stopped at the Mondsee rest stop. The witness stopped behind her and spoke to the driver. He noticed that something was wrong, suspected that she was heavily intoxicated and pulled off the car key because the woman wanted to continue driving. The result of the alcohol test carried out by the officers from the Seewalchen motorway police, who arrived a short time later, showed that he had acted correctly: 2.46 per mille. The Salzburg woman was no longer able to hand over her driving license; it had already been revoked from her.
