Currently, the determination of age, whether an asylum seeker is a minor or not, is carried out by means of physical and dental examinations as well as X-rays of the hands, as the FPÖ club chairman says Herwig Mahr tested in the cartoon. However, Interior Minister wants Gerhard Karner (ÖVP), according to its response to the resolution, to stick to the previous examination methods, especially since involuntary interference with the physical integrity (such as DNA swabs from the oral cavity, as proposed by the ÖVP and FPö) are not permitted. Participation in the classic methods cannot be forced either, and non-participation must not be interpreted as a refusal to participate in the clarification of age.
