Rather discreet for a few months, the Realme brand, which has multiplied the announcements of new smartphones before the summer, is back with a new model which enriches its numbered range. Its latest, whose launch is scheduled in France on September 30, takes the name of Realme 9i. It is not completely unknown, since it has already been formalized in India.
Terminals stamped “i” are often discreetly lightened versions of Realme’s numbered models. This is therefore the case of the Realme 9i compared to the Realme 9 5G. For our part, we tested the 4G version of this smartphone: as you will have understood, before purchasing, it is better to pay particular attention to the characteristics of these smartphones with multiple variations. The Realme 9i, however, sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD display which, unlike the Realme 9 5G, makes do with a 90Hz refresh rate (120Hz for its older sibling). . Behind it hides a chip presented by MediaTek a few months ago and seen on the Poco M5 Pro 5G, the Dimensity 810. The chip is of course equipped with a 5G modem, and is seen here flanked by 4 to 6 GB of living memory.
The smartphone, which therefore aims to be an affordable proposition on the 5G mobile market, benefits for the rest from a classic technical sheet. A 5000 mAh battery compatible with 18 W charging operates within it, and its triple photo module is carried in the wake of a 50 megapixel main sensor. Realme is particularly proud of the integration of this block within the shell of the terminal, which is reminiscent of that of Samsung’s recent Galaxy S22 Ultra, and whose finish is designed to recall the appearance of antique CDs. The Realme 9i 5G is finally compatible with wifi ac and Bluetooth 5.2, and has a side fingerprint reader.
It is on September 30 that Realme will reveal the French price of its 9i, marketed at around 190 € excluding taxes in India (4 / 64 GB). We can expect a starting price of around €250, with the Realme 9 5G being charged €259.99.
