Toyota GR 86 and Subaru BRZ are two (twin) brothers, essentially identical coupés for car enthusiasts. However, the BRZ of the second generation has so far been withheld from us in Austria – but now a limited edition can be ordered for a short time.
What a fun car, the Toyota GR 86. In the fall of 2021 we headlined “interference driver now better in classes”, before the sporty Japanese came onto the market in May 2022. Its construction time is limited to two years from the outset. Subaru’s counterpart, the BRZ, is even more strictly limited. A maximum of 30 of them come to Austria. Maybe less, because orders will only be accepted until March 14, 2023 at the latest. It comes to us exclusively as a “Final Edition”, including special side decoration and, among other things, a fine cast metal badge with consecutive numbering from one to 30 on the interior. He will provide the drive 234 hp boxer engine known from the Toyota, which provides a maximum torque of 370 Nm at 3700 rpm. Depending on the level of grip on the road, you can ask the rear axle to dance with it. In Austria, only the manual six-speed gearbox is offered, no automatic. There is also no choice of color. The body is painted in WR Blue Pearl, the 18-inch aluminum in Dark Gray Metallic. Standard are full LED headlights, heated exterior mirrors and front seats, an eight-inch infotainment system with six speakers and reversing camera, black Ultrasuede leather seats with red contrasting stitching and aluminum pedals. Lane change, blind spot and cross traffic assistants should ensure safety. The price: 44,990 euros.
