Another protective mask recall. Hubnet-GmbH warns that the masks they sell have incorrect information on the packaging.

The uncertainty in the corona pandemic is already great. What else can i do? Who else can I see How can I best protect myself? In these times we definitely don't need one thing: a mask recall. Protective masks were repeatedly recalled in the past because they did not provide adequate protection against the coronavirus. Now another follows.

Hubnet GmbH announced on its website that the masks it sells are not correctly labeled. It literally says:

"Important information – call back

The LUCCA Care mask that we sell is NO PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) and NOT A MEDICAL DEVICEbut just a mouth and nose covering.

The information "KN95" and "FFP2" on the mask and the packaging is therefore incorrect.

Please send any returns to:

How do I recognize a mask that protects me from aerosols?

A DIY or surgical mask is not enough to protect yourself from the coronavirus. The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices recommends an FFP2 or FFP3 mask. The website says: "According to DIN EN 149: 2009-08, the filter performance of particle-filtering half masks with aerosols is tested. FFP2 masks must filter at least 94% and FFP3 masks at least 99% of the test aerosols. They therefore offer effective protection also against aerosols. " Important: The masks must have a CE mark and a four-digit number.

Unfortunately, it can happen that masks are labeled incorrectly, as the current case shows. However, that should be the exception. In any case, it can't hurt to fall back on proven providers.
