The Socialist Youth Vienna dissolved its district organization in Alsergrund on Monday. This was preceded by relevant anti-Israel statements about the Middle East conflict at a demonstration.
Since the SJ Alsergrund later even confirmed these anti-Israel statements, the board of the SJ Vienna unanimously dissolved the district organization. She is no longer part of the association, as a spokesman emphasized. The comments came from a member of the Trotskyist organization “Der Funke”. According to SJ Vienna, this pursues the strategy of infiltrating and taking over the structures of the Socialist Youth. The SJ Alsergrund is being used as a vehicle “to distort and undermine the positions of the Socialist Youth.” For the state executive board of the Socialist Youth Vienna, this approach and positioning is incompatible with the principles of the Socialist Youth. This supports a two-state solution in the Middle East conflict.
