US actress Regina King mourns the loss of her son Ian Alexander Jr. He was 26 years old.
Regina King’s (51) son Ian Alexander Jr. (1996-2022) has died. He had turned 26 on Wednesday (January 19). King confirmed the sad news in a statement, quoted from “People” magazine. “Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of Ian,” the actress said. “He was such a bright light who cared so much about the happiness of others.” The family asked for “respectful consideration during this private time”.
Only child of Regina King
Ian Alexander Jr. was Regina King’s only child. Her father is her ex-husband Ian Alexander Sr., to whom she was married from 1997 to 2007. Ian Alexander Jr. had followed in his father’s footsteps and also become a DJ. In a previous interview with People, Regina King explained that her son is the greatest source of her pride. It wasn’t always easy for her as a single parent, but nothing is stronger than “unconditional love” for Ian Alexander Jr.
Regina King has made a name for herself as both an actress and director. She received both an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 2019 for her supporting role in the film “If Beale Street Could Talk”. In 2020 she directed her first feature film, One Night in Miami.
