Regionalliga West – dream goals brought Austria the victory

Austria celebrated a clear victory against Wals-Grünau in the Salzburg derby. Coach Josef Bauer: “No broken leg.” Meanwhile, Tamas Tandari led FC Pinzgau to a threesome with a brace.

Who should beat this team? That’s what some of the 800 spectators asked themselves when they saw Austria Salzburg clearly win 4-0 against Wals-Grünau in yesterday’s Salzburg derby. “We had a hard time in the first half, but in the end we deserved to win,” summarized trainer Christian Schaider, who continues to lead the table with his team. He added with a smile: “Maybe the win was a goal or two too high, but the two goals at the end were super nice, so I was very happy.” The third goal of the game was actually one to enjoy. The ball bounced off an opponent onto Marinko Sorda, who took it straight away and sunk it in the corner. Only a few moments later, Christoph Bann – also a dream goal from long range – put the end. However, this came much later than expected because the game had to be interrupted twice. Once because of a medical emergency, once because of the storm. Dominance continues For the hosts, the game was already over after the second goal was conceded, but for coach Josef Bauer there was no reason for criticism: “No broken leg. Everyone really fought, so I have to compliment my team. Austria were simply too strong.” Just like the Violets, FC Pinzgau Saalfelden also celebrated a clear win against Reichenau. A brace from captain and club legend Tamas Tandari resulted in a 4-0 victory. Due to Hohenems falling against Kufstein, three Salzburg clubs – Austria, FC Pinzgau and Bischofshofen – are in the top three and are watching the table from the front.
