You can now be tested for the coronavirus in Vienna at any time of the day or night: A test street in the Happel Stadium is open around the clock.
Both a rapid antigen test and a PCR test can be carried out there. The 24-hour station is operated by a consortium of blue light organizations. An appointment is necessary.
Further expansion possible if required
The new test street will increase the rapid test capacity in Vienna by 36 percent, the office of City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) emphasized to the APA. A further expansion of the test facilities in the federal capital is possible if necessary.
The measure is to be understood as a reaction to the future 3G rule in the workplace, valid from November 1st: The city expects a general increase in testing. The current capacities would be sufficient, it said. For example, 500,000 evaluations per day are possible with the “everything gurgles” test track. This value is currently far from being reached. According to the Hacker Bureau, 600,000 gargle tests are currently being carried out per week.
