Condor is the name of the multiplayer project in the universe of
Control that Remedy is developing and which is revealed in the company’s annual report. This is a cooperative live service that will expand the universe and wait Control 2. Survival against a Hiss invasion, this is what the studio wants to offer on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Even on the next generation, since the game has not even entered production yet.
With an initial budget of 25 million euros, Project Condor does not currently benefit from any publisher. Remedy Entertainment having bought the license rights Control last February, 505 Games is no longer concerned with future projects in this universe. However, even if it will be a live service game, the document does not suggest possible free-to-play. Only two models stand out for Remedy, the fixed price Premium game, like
Control, and live service at a fixed price. Whether it is the same price as a Premium game or not.
Other projects in the pipeline
However, the Finnish studio does not intend to focus on this game alone. In addition to a live service multiplayer game in the universe of Control, Remedy has other plans. Starting with the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, which is at the same stage of production as the Project Condor. It will be published by Rockstar Games and should therefore be a large-scale game. This will also allow it to benefit from a much larger communications budget. And Remedy will take advantage of this to move forward quietly in the pre-production of Control 2.
But there remains another project at the studio, this one linked to Tencent. This is Kestrel, a project that was recently started from scratch. Co-financed by the Chinese giant and the Finnish studio, everything has been redesigned, in particular to make it a Premium game. With this, Remedy announces that it has reached an agreement with Tencent so that the project reflects the strengths of the studio, while exploiting its connected universe.
