Bad news for the little one electric car ZOE from Renault, since the group is forced to recall numerous models. For what ? For fire risks.

The manufacturer is in fact forced to launch a recall campaign concerning its ZOE, for a possible malfunction of the on-board battery. Affected owners are encouraged to contact their dealer for more information.

Heat stroke for the Renault ZOE

In fact, Renault indicates that the malfunction in question is possibly able to reduce the autonomy of the vehicle, prevent the initiation of the charging cycle, or even, and more seriously, cause a subsidiary fire.

Due to a manufacturing problem, a short circuit may occur in the high voltage battery. This will increase the risk of fire », Indicates the Rappel Conso platform.

This is not the first time that the Renault ZOE is at the heart of a recall campaign, this was notably the case in 2023, while the first recall dates back to 2016, for a concern linked at the time to the brake fluid line on the front axle.

Only a handful of vehicles affected?

However, Renault indicated that only a handful of vehicles were affected by this recent recall. The manufacturer cites in particular two ZOE vehicles, “ one in France and one in Switzerland », which are among those equipped with BT4 XLR battery and which were produced at the Flins factory (in Yvelines) between 1er and September 28, 2023.

Let us recall in passing that after 11 years of marketing, the Renault ZOE has just bowed out, the manufacturer having recently stopped its production. In total, more than 420,000 copies were produced.
