If you’re over 20, you might remember the game 3D Pinball Space Cadet. Embedded by default on Windows 95, Windows ME and Windows XP, this simple pinball game has gained posthumous popularity thanks to those who still remember the days when our computers took five minutes to start up and made funny noises as soon as they connected to the web.
Good news, if you miss the game, a version is now playable on the Internet via a simple web browser. Go to the dedicated site then start playing with the left and right clicks of your mouse to activate the pinball machines. As on the Windows of the time, the ball is launched via the space key.
Versions for Switch, Wii or webOS
The portage is unfortunately not flawless. It is not possible to fully play through the keyboard, as the game was designed for an American keyboard layout. You will therefore have to slide to the top of the high-score table with the sole force of your mouse. It must be said that making the game available on the Web is a small feat.
Indeed, the web version of 3D Pinball is a direct port of the Windows version that a superfan decompiled brick by brick to tweak the code and share it with everyone. A reverse-engineered miracle that made the game available on a whole host of other platforms.
