Research section: the plot of the new episodes in Reunion finally revealed!

“Research Section” will soon be back on TF1. Xavier Deluc, Franck Sémonin and Fabienne Carat have started filming a double episode entitled “Mortal Hike” in Reunion Island. Discover the pitch and the cast of this new investigation.

The filming of the new episodes of Research Section has just started in Reunion and we now know more about the plot of this unexpected sequel.

A few days ago, we learned that TF1 had decided to relaunch the successful series led by Xavier Deluc and Franck Semonin, despite the announcement of the program’s discontinuation two years ago and the broadcast of a final event last year, which notably featured the return of several notable actors from the series, such as Jean-Pascal Lacoste, Virginie Caliari or Chrystelle Labaude.

Xavier Deluc (Bernier), Franck Sémonin (Lucas), Fabienne Carat (Jeanne), Félicité Chaton (Vicky) and Elise Tielrooy (Ariel) will be back in “Mortelle Randonnee”, a double episode shot from May 10 to June 6. on Reunion Island, and more specifically in the Bélouve forest, within the national park.

This new investigation by the Research Section sees Bernier, freshly retired, going on a trek to Reunion Island with his former colleagues. The program is idyllic but, barely arrived in the shelter cut off from the world where they must spend the night, a hiker from their group is found dead, hanging from a tree, in a macabre scene.

While the fine team thought to disconnect and enjoy the sublime nature of the island, they find themselves at the heart of a mystery whose forces exceed anything they have known so far…

Deprived of any means of communication and unable to warn the local authorities, Bernier is forced to return to service for a new disconcerting investigation.

Between forest spirits, local beliefs and unleashed nature, the Research Section delves into the heart of the island’s secrets…

On the guest side, this new evening event welcomes the actors Olivier Sitruk (recently seen in the final season of Balthazar), Isabelle Vitari (Our dear neighbors, L’amour (almost) parfait), Élodie Varlet (Plus belle la vie), who was illustrated a few weeks ago in the TV movie The Secret of the cave on France 3, Laurent Maurel (The Vengeance with clear eyes, Alexandra Ehle) and the young Soan Arhimann, who won The Voice Kids in 2019.

Directed by Abel Ferry (Le Saut du diable) and written by Laura Fontaine, Denis Alamercery and Yann Le Gal, “Mortal Hike” will be broadcast in the coming months in prime time on TF1, without further details at this stage.
