Resident annoyed – fuss about Billa discount sticker in a residential building in Vienna

Inflation climbed to 9.8 percent in Austria in April. Ever since the rise in prices, daily shopping has been more expensive than ever. Percentages and in the case of the Billa retail chain, the popular discount stickers are therefore more important than ever. But the residential building near the Südtirolerplatz in Vienna-Favoriten has always had to do without it, as a resident of krone.at reveals herself.

With the stickers you save 25 percent on your favorite product, according to the retail chain Billa. After the food prices had recently risen rapidly, many households are even dependent on these discounts. No wonder, after all, many Austrians are feeling the rise in prices in their wallets. A residential building in Goldegasse in Vienna had to do without the popular markers until now. A woman who lives in the building can only speculate about the reasons. However, in the recent past, the Viennese woman has also observed how delivery people of unaddressed mail remove all the discount stickers from the flyers in Weyringergasse. “It was early in the morning and I didn’t dare watch the men any longer,” the resident continues. The 37-year-old can only speculate as to why these men stole all the stickers. The same could also have happened in Goldegasse. No help from Billa employees The Viennese woman has also already contacted the retail chain itself. However, the responses she received from the staff were unsatisfactory. Statements like “we’re not allowed to do that” or “otherwise we can be fired” didn’t help the 37-year-old. In any case, the resident of Goldegasse feels treated unfairly, especially in times like these: “What is certain is that the food companies make enormous sales and this increases year after year and now with the often incomprehensible price increases.” Billa becomes more frugal with discount stickers You could already see in mid-February that Billa used the discount stickers quite frugally. The retail chain reduced the number of weekly 25 percent stickers from four to three. This small change caught the eye of many consumers.
