Resident Evil 4: the remake continues to be a hit, thanks to the Gold Edition

On March 23, 2023, almost a year ago, Capcom launched Resident Evil 4, remake of its survival horror cult action oriented. The original opus, released on GameCube in 2005, is a reference of the genre, suffice to say that this modernized version for current consoles was highly anticipated, the title is selling very well.

Today, Capcom announces that Resident Evil 4 Remake sold 7 million copies, bringing it to 154 million copies sold since 1996. As a reminder, the remake already had 6.48 million sales at the end of last year, but since then, the Gold Edition including the DLC and the extension Separate Ways with Ada Wong is released, enough to attract new players. The title was also entitled to a VR mode free for PlayStation 2 VR.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is on track to exceed Resident Evil 3 Remake (8.4 million sales), Resident Evil 6, RE 5 (9 million) and Resident Evil Village (9.3 million), but it still has a way to go to get ahead of RE 7 Biohazard (13 million) and above all Resident Evil 2 Remake (13.6 million), the best-selling opus of the saga.
