Resident Evil Village: Capcom confirms that the Shadows of Rose scenario “will conclude the saga of the Winters family”

A few days ago, during its own showcase organized on the occasion of the Tokyo Game Show 2022, Capcom was quite talkative, in particular aboutexoprimal, of street fighter 6 and several games from the license resident Evil. And that’s not all since we learned at the start of the week that the Asian studio also took advantage of the event to indulge in some confidences in the context of an interview with IGN Japan.

During this exchange, director Kento Kinoshita notably confirmed that Shadows of Rosethe four-hour scripted content included in future DLC Winter’s Expansion of Resident Evil Village, was thought for “concluding the Winters family saga”.

Creating the 3rd person mode took a lot of effort

In addition to making this statement, which is already necessarily fueling speculation among fans regarding the future of the franchise, the director, accompanied by producer Masachika Kawata, both returned briefly to the mode that will allow players to play Resident Evil Village in 3rd person view. According to them, they wanted players to discover this one by asking themselves the following question: “Did the developers imagine the game in third person from the beginning? »

Also in the interview with IGN Japan, Kawata clarified that design this mode “took as much effort as creating a new game” explaining in particular that “even the same game can be a very different experience when played in third person. » For his part, Kinoshita indicated that, in his way of working on it, “We (the development team) felt we had to do something as good as, or even better than, what we came up with in Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake. »

Featured in the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Villagethe DLC Winter’s Expansion will be available on October 28 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Google Stadia and on December 2 in the Cloud version on Nintendo Switch. As a reminder, a Resident Evil Showcase should take place during the month of October. If we already know that we will see again Resident Evil 4 Remakedifficult to say if the Asian studio also intends to use the event to tease us in a more or less mysterious way the future of its horror series.

Just know that, during TGS 2022, Masachika Kawata would have just laughed after declaring that he could not ” absolutely not “ share information about the company’s future projects for the moment. To be continued.
