The Residenzgalerie is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special exhibition and an AI experiment.
More than 100 works from the company’s own holdings will be on display at the big anniversary show. These include real top-class works such as Rembrandt’s old woman praying. But the gallery doesn’t just want to indulge in the past. So she asked people from Salzburg to describe a work of art and fed this description into an artificial intelligence system. Despite the remarkable results of modern technology: “Well, I’d rather look at the original in the residence gallery,” concluded hotelier Andreas Gfrerer.
