Resuscitation unsuccessful – Tyrolean (79) died after crashing with tractor

Horrific accident on Saturday morning in Gries am Brenner: A local man crashed his tractor and was trapped under the vehicle. All attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful. It is the second such incident in Tyrol within a week.

The senior was probably driving his tractor on a dirt road in the morning hours towards his property in the Innsbruck-Land district in the Vinaders area. “Since there was a pile of branches on the edge of the dirt road, he probably wanted to drive around this area,” the police say. In doing so, he probably went over the side of the path with the right vehicle wheels and fell over steep terrain. After about 30 meters he was thrown from the motor cart. Passers-by probably heard the incident and called the emergency services. “When we arrived, first aiders were already on site and tried to resuscitate the person. The rescue team then took over the resuscitation,” says Alois Wieser, commander of the Gries am Brenner fire department, describing the dramatic scenes. Died at the scene of the accident. Unfortunately, any help came too late for the victim, who died at the scene of the accident. “The person was trapped under the vehicle in steep terrain and was finally rescued,” continued Wieser. The fire department was finally able to tow the vehicle away.Similar accident a week agoA similar incident had already occurred a week ago in Fügenberg (Schwaz district). At that time, a 61-year-old farmer fell over a steep meadow with his tractor and was thrown out of the vehicle cabin. The resuscitation measures were unsuccessful and he died at the scene of the accident.
