Retirement home 2 trailer: Kev Adams surrounds himself with new seniors after the 2 million admissions of the first film

The Retirement Home gang is back! The first images are here, still with Kev Adams in the lead role.

Released in our theaters on February 16, 2022, the first part of Retirement home was successful, with more than 2 million admissions. Entrusted to director Thomas Gilou (The Truth if I lie), Maison de Retraite brought together Kev Adams, Jarry, Gérard Depardieu, Daniel Prévost, Mylène Demongeot, Jean-Luc Bideau, Liliane Rovere, Firmine Richard and Marthe Villalonga.

The sequel is already coming to the big screen. The first images have just arrived.

Retirement home will invite us to meet Milann (Kev Adams) and some of the residents of the retirement home: Fleurette, Sylvette, Alfred, Edmond… The latter now rub shoulders with the children of an orphanage. Where it would be a question of shenanigans around a dark matter of expulsion.

When the Lino Vartan home – which welcomes young orphans and seniors – has to close for health reasons, Milann has no other choice but to respond to the invitation from a retirement home in the South which welcomes them for the summer. Everyone boards Alban’s bus. Children and elders then discover the Bel Azur Club, an idyllic villa by the sea: the dream! A godsend for these orphaned kids who have never had a vacation… But paradise turns to hell because old and new senior citizens hate each other! The senior war is declared!

Retirement Home 2 will be released almost 2 years to the day after the first part. The date chosen for the cinema release of the sequel is February 14, 2023. It will open as a preview of the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival 2024.

What casting for this sequel?

Kev Adams and several residents from the first part will be back. Daniel Prévost, Liliane Rovère, Marthe Villalonga, Firmine Richard and Jean-Luc Bideau will return. Jarry also returns to the role of Alban. Gérard Depardieu, currently in media turmoil, will not be in the casting, given the destiny of his character in the first part. Mylène Demongeot, who died in December 2022, will logically not be in the credits.

Many new ones are arriving: they are Jean Reno, Amanda Lear, Chantal Ladesou, Enrico Macias and Michel Jonasz. Also announced are Brahim Bouhlel (seen in the series Validé), Louna Espinosa (seen in Rumba la vie with Franck Dubosc), Anne Marivin and Stéphane Debac.

After Thomas Gilou, Claude Zidi Jr. directs Retirement House 2. He previously directed Les Déguns 1 and 2, and even Ténor. The screenplay, like the first part, will be written by Kev Adams. Note that Retirement Home 1 was co-written by Kev Adams and Catherine Diament.

Retirement home, released February 16, 2022, is available on DVD and VOD.
