Grog-drinking pirates, ghost captains and three-headed monkeys will soon return to your PC and Nintendo Switch in Return of Monkey Island. At the September 19th the time has come, as announced in a trailer at Gamescom 2022.
The date was not chosen entirely by chance. Because on this day the fictional holiday “Talk like a Pirate Day” (roughly “Talk like a pirate day”) is also celebrated in the United States. The fact that the developers have a sense of humor is also underlined by the announced pre-order bonus.
Pre-order bonus reveals useless item
Because if you pre-order the game now on Steam or the Nintendo Store, you will receive horse armor for free. The item is shown as a horse-shaped shiny plate armor, should automatically appear in your inventory after the game starts – and according to the trailer is completely useless.
Game veterans and Elder Scrolls connoisseurs will immediately recognize the dig. Because it is a parody of the paid, but purely cosmetic additional content for “The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion”, which marks the start of the unpopular microtransaction trend for many gamers.
