After the release of trailers as part of the Summer Game Fest, SEGA And Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio just released their RGG Summit Summer 2023serving to present us with new details concerning the next two games of the license: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth also known as Ryu Ga Gotoku 8 And Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. No sensational announcement this time, but still enough to satisfy the fans.
It is first of all two glimpses of gameplay with Jōryū (the new name taken by Kazuma Kiryu) in action that were served to us in addition to the rerun of the recent trailerwith his different fighting styles (from 7:00 p.m.). On the one hand, he will be able to fight in a classic way as in the old games with THE Yakuza-style and on the other with THE Officer Style using gadgets and drawing inspiration from spy movies. This new adventure will take place three years after the events of Yakuza 6, mainly in the Sotenbori district of Osaka, as well as in Yokohama. Several main characters and their actors were also introduced and took the stage to discuss: Kazuma Kiryu (Takaya Kuroda) Homare Nishitan (Kim Jaeuck) Yuki Tsuruno (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) Kosei Shishido (Yasukaze Motomiya) and Akame (First Summer Uika).
On the side of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the recent trailer is nothing but a cut scene Gameof which the action will take place in Yokohama as well as abroad as was shown by the trailera priori in Hawaii even if nothing has been confirmed on this subject. A rather amusing conversation between Ichiban Kasuga (Kazuhiro Nakaya) and Kazuma Kiryu was broadcast (from 1:00:10), pay attention to the spoilers Nevertheless.
To finish, SEGA And Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio already invite us to attend a RGG Summit Fall 2023 scheduled for September. We will therefore not be long in discovering new details concerning these two games. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is expected on November 9, 2023 while Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released in early 2024, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam and Windows).
