Rhône Boiron forced to diversify to save its “skin”


Investing in a start-up totally foreign to the world of homeopathy is a first in the history of Laboratoires Boiron. The Messimy company has just finalized the acquisition of a 70% stake in the Lyon startup ABBI (1) , specialized in specialized and tailor-made cosmetics, thanks to Artificial Intelligence.

The first external growth operation since 2017, this acquisition undeniably confirms that Laboratoires Boiron must reinvent itself. “Diversification” to “save the company”, confirms Valérie Lorentz-Poinsot, general manager of Boiron laboratories, and thus get out of their hyperdependence on homeopathy.
