Five young people suspected of having taken part in the attack on a plainclothes police officer during a rodeo on April 8 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (Rhône), were arrested on Monday.
The 42-year-old officer was assaulted while he was taking scooter registrations from his vehicle, Le Progrès reported.
Members of the rodeo identified him as a police officer. The 40-year-old was then insulted, threatened, beaten, “receiving blows in the face”, the national police said in a press release.
Two minors involved
Reinforcements had come to the aid of the agent who had filed a complaint and had been prescribed 5 days of ITT.
Among the five people arrested, two are minors. According to the police, they are “likely to be involved in the facts” and have been taken into custody.
