As a result, he was fired from his work on the Netflix series “After Life”, among other things. Actor and comedian Ricky Gervais (59), who plays the lead role in the series and had already worked on several projects with Hanson, is now responding to the allegations. He was “shocked and horrified,” it said in a statement, which is available from the industry magazine “Variety”.

Gervais is further quoted as saying, “It was decided to immediately release him from production and I am sure this matter will be handled carefully.” In addition to “After Life”, Hanson also produced the BBC and HBO series “Extras” (2005-2007), which Gervais wrote and filmed with “The Office” screenwriter Stephen Merchant (46). Hanson also worked as a producer for the duo’s film “Cemetry Junction” (2010) and the series “Life’s Too Short” (2011) and “Derek” (2012).

Hanson dismisses allegations

In a statement by his attorney, which is available, among other things, to “Variety”, Hanson said: “I was informed of the allegations of sexual misconduct against women from many years ago. Based on the summaries I have received, I recognize that many of these allegations were made anonymously and are demonstrably false. ” He contradicts the allegations. The matter is now in the hands of his lawyers.
