Ricochet considered insufficient according to Warzone players

Warzone players are going after Activision and the RICOCHET anti-cheat system. And what about the number of cheaters in Warzone Pacific matches.

The popularity and growth of Warzone since its release in March 2020 has been marred, to some degree, by the prominence of cheaters. Any Warzone player with a few matches under their belt will no doubt have encountered an enemy using wallhacks, an aimbot, or both.

For these reasons, the announcement and implementation of the RICOCHET anti-cheat last December was universally welcomed. However, it hasn’t been the resounding success that many hoped for and recent reports suggest cheating is just as rampant as it was before the anti-cheat was launched.

Activision

Cheating is not uncommon in Warzone.

A player u/Htowng8r said that the number of cheaters he encountered seems to be back to pre-Vanguard levels.

“Rebirth is infested again. Almost every game has a cheater”.

“It was also bad just before VG launched and Ricochet went live a month later. Now, maybe a month after Ricochet, it’s back to nonsense in every game, there’s someone cheating. Rebirth is one example, but Caldera certainly has quite a few judging by the testimonials of players who cross paths with them in every game.”

Other posts echoed similar sentiments.

“I don’t want to hear the fanboys with the ‘just because you lost a fight, doesn’t mean they’re cheating’. I had 3 games back to back with people with names like “youhackingbro” cheating with impunity. It’s getting harder and harder to play.”

Many other Warzone players commented to say they had similar experiences. Hopefully RICOCHET and Activision will manage to get the situation under control in the future.
