Ridley Scott is planning a ten-part World War II epic with "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight.

Ridley Scott (83, "Blade Runner") actually has his hands full at the moment. Because since February 2021 he has been shooting his new film "House of Gucci" in Italy. And the 83-year-old filmmaker apparently does not even think about taking it easy afterwards – on the contrary. As the US industry portal "Deadline" reports, Scott has teamed up with screenwriter Steven Knight (62, "Peaky Blinders") to bring a ten-part world war epic on the way.

The project called "Roads to Freedom" is to be based on the books of the British historian Antony Beevor (74, "The Second World War") and shed light on history from different perspectives. The events should not, as is often the case in Hollywood, only be told from the point of view of the USA or the British, but stories from Russia, France or Germany are also told in order to get a global picture.

Scott is supposed to direct all episodes and Knight is supposed to write the scripts. It is not yet known when and, above all, on which portal the series will be broadcast. Beevor's books have sold over eight million copies to date and have been translated into 33 languages.
