Elvis’ granddaughter Riley Keough wants to start a new life in Australia – away from the troubles with Priscilla Presley.
What a surprise! When Riley Keough, 33, was recently interviewed by Australia’s Vogue, the otherwise reticent actress revealed interesting news: She’s intensely looking for a home in Australia, Riley said, because: “I feel so free and happy here .”
Riley Keough: Byron Bay will be her adopted home
As soon as she finds her dream home, she plans to move with her daughter and husband Ben Smith-Petersen, 31. Where exactly? It’s probably going to Byron Bay. Her husband Ben’s family lives in the hip surfer’s paradise, with whom Riley gets along very well – far better than with some of her own relatives.
Byron Bay means a lot to her: Here Riley experienced the “most magical time of her life”. That was in late 2013 when she flew to Sydney to reshoot some scenes from Mad Max: Fury Road. Her relationship with Alex Pettyfer (who Toni Garrn is currently divorcing) had just ended.
She met her soul mate on set
Luckily in hindsight, because that’s the only reason she talked longer on set with the likeable stuntman Ben, who offered to teach her how to surf. “I knew right away that I never wanted to be apart from him again,” says Riley. Already on the third day they had their partners tattooed; then she flew with Ben to his family in Byron Bay.
Everything was just right there too: “I felt that he was the man with whom I would have children.” The couple moved in together two months later and married in Nepal the following year. Riley says nice things about Ben like: “He’s loyal, strong, sensitive and my best friend. And we still talk to each other after nine years. It’s so nice when you’ve found the person you love.”
The partnership is their great happiness
In view of the many tragedies surrounding Elvis’ granddaughter, the ideal world with her soul mate seems like a gift from God. Two years ago her brother Benjamin committed suicide; Earlier this year, her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, died of heart failure.
She had appointed Riley as trustee of the estate, which includes the famous Graceland estate. Much to the annoyance of Grandma Priscilla Presley: She doubts the authenticity of the document and has been arguing with her granddaughter ever since. Even before that, Riley flees to Byron Bay. To the place that has only given her good things so far.
