Riot becomes a shareholder of Fortiche Production, the studio behind the Arcane series

Riot Games just got a solid helping of Fortiche Production, the company behind the cardboard Arcane
from Netflix.

Good or bad news for the future? Hard to say.

Riot Games + Fortiche Production = <3

Right after his hit anime series Arcane won nine statuettes at the Annie Awards (ceremony rewarding animation), Fortiche Production had another big piece of information to digest: the giant Riot Games, publisher and developer of the game League of Legends on which is based Arcanebecame a shareholder of the company.

It must be said that Fortiche Production did not wait for the Netflix series to make the heyday of League of Legends and Riot Games. The French studio has been producing high quality videos and clips for the MOBA for several years now. It was therefore ultimately only a matter of time before Riot Games no longer invested concretely in its foal.

This is an equity investment, and Riot does not own a sufficient portion to control Fortiche. In contrast, Brian Wright (Chief Content Officer at Riot) and Brendan Mulligan (Director of Corporate Development at Riot) join the animation studio’s board of directors. The two partners, now more linked than ever, are already working on season 2 ofArcane
but also on other projects still kept secret.
