The Medef wants to tackle housing, the main item of expenditure for the French, and is proposing a major conference on housing. Olivier Klein, Minister Delegate to the Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, in charge of Cities and Housing was the guest of Europe Matin on Monday.

Faced with rising prices, rising interest rates and declining building permits, the Medef is offering a major conference on housing, the main item of expenditure for the French. A proposal accepted by Olivier Klein, Minister Delegate to the Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, in charge of Cities and Housing. “I met the president of Action Logement last week, I will see him again. We must sign an agreement between the State and Action Logement”, he announces.

“We must produce more, all types of housing”

“We will continue with the social landlords, with Action Logement since the Medef chairs Action Logement with all the social partners. This work will be carried out throughout the year, at the end of 2022 and 2023 to reflect together”, details Olivier Klein at the microphone of Europe 1.

“We must produce more, all types of housing,” he says. “We know that the French need housing. It is extremely important for them. In their daily lives, we all wonder when we have children where they will settle in a few years, we know that it is increasingly difficult,” he said.
